☼  César Manrique was an artist, sculptor, architect and environmentalist from Lanzarote. Between the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s, he designed a number of spectacular buildings and resorts. See some of them in this wonderful series by Hamburg-based photographer, David Alrath.

☼ Props to whoever purchased this excellent painting of “Gaugin’s Girl” for a mere £25 on Thursday.

☼ I was sad to discover that this 1960s pop-up bar was just a render (until I found the real one it was based upon).

☼  This new camera from Instax is the lovechild of a Polaroid, a digital camera and a digital photo printer. (Instax fam please do send me one. Very open to camera-related bribes & solicitation)

☼ Need some plans for Valentine's Day? Nothing says romantic opulence like the all-pink Jackie Gaughan suite at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, complete with gold swan faucets over a blush marble tub. Here’s a full video tour.

☼ Currently daydreaming of this villa in Bali, by Beda Studio. They did a great interview about their design process, which you can read here.

☼ I’ve seen a lot of rechargeable lamps recently, but this one from MUD Australia is particularly good. Debuted at Melbourne Design Week, the Pop Lamp is made from one piece of porcelain and comes in a range of great colorways. Add to any bookshelf in your home.

☼ There’s going to be an exhibition at the Design Museum in London this spring/summer about the history of swimwear.

☼ On my ‘to-watch’ list—this documentary about Donna Summer, made in collaboration with her daughter, Brooklyn Sudano

☼ Brought to you by Slovakia-based studio, Crafting Plastics, these biodegradable side tables/stools that change colour in response to UV light.

☼ You’ve squeezed approx 57 limes for your monthly Mahjong & Margaritas Mixer. Here’s what to do with all those leftover peels

Vintage photos of people at Reñaca Beach, Chile in the 1980s. Shot by Don Terpstra.

Until next time!
